GETTING HERE

Sanctuary is located on Rt. 28 (19520 Darnestown Rd.) approximately 16 miles west of the junction on I-270 in Rockville.

From Washington: Take Rt. 495 (Beltway) to I-270 North. Take exit 6B (Route 28 West) towards Darnestown. Go approximately 16 miles. When you pass Peachtree Veterinary Clinic on the left and Lewis Orchards on the right, we are 1.5 miles on the left, just after Jerusalem Road. There's a small white sign reading "Sanctuary Retreat Center" just before the driveway on the left after "Jerusalem Road." Go slowly or you will miss the turn. If you get to the traffic light at Route 109, you will have gone too far.

From Baltimore or Frederick: Take I-70 to Frederick and then take the exit for Rt. 355 and Rt. 85. Stay on Rt. 85 through Buckeystown and the road will eventually become Route 28. Continue on Route 28 through the town of Beallsville (at the traffic light). We are 3/10 of a mile past Route 109 on the right. Look for our mailbox with the street address 19520. Turn right into the driveway. If you get to Jerusalem Road, you have gone too far. Turn right into the driveway.

By train: Sanctuary is only 1.5 miles from the Barnesville stop on the Brunswick Line of the MARC commuter train that travels to and from Washington DC during rush hours Monday-Friday. For more information see: https://mta.maryland.gov/
